1. Complete your invite checkout
You'll get an email titled "You're invited to FamCoins!" with a secure link to a Stripe checkout page for the plan you were invited to. Enter your payment details there — this is the only payment step, and it's handled entirely by Stripe, not FamCoins directly.
What if I want a different plan than the one I was invited to?
Complete the checkout for now to get your account created, then switch plans anytime from Family Settings Billing. See the Billing guide.
2. Get your login email
Within a minute or two of completing checkout, you'll get a second email — "Your FamCoins space is ready!" — with:
- Your login URL (
wallet.famcoins.app/admin.php) - A temporary password
- A temporary 4-digit Parent PIN
Log in right away and change both from Family Settings — the temporary ones work, but you don't want to be using a system-generated password long-term.
3. Your account already has content — don't panic
When your space was created, we pre-loaded 100+ chores and routines and 30 store reward items, organized into categories like Academic, Creative, Household, Hygiene, and Kindness. This is intentional — most parents don't want to spend their first 30 minutes typing out chores from scratch.
Go to Task & Chores Manager in your dashboard and:
- Turn off anything that doesn't fit your family (age-inappropriate, not applicable, etc.)
- Adjust coin values if something feels over- or under-valued
- Add your own custom chores alongside the presets
Same idea for the Store — edit, remove, or add reward items to match what actually motivates your kids.
4. Add your kids
Go to the Kids section and add each child — name, grade (this drives content difficulty for Word of the Day / Math Challenge), color, and optional PIN. Your plan determines how many kids you can add:

5. Understand the daily rhythm
- Daily check-in: +1 coin any time, +5 for the first check-in of the day (resets at 6 AM to prevent midnight-gaming).
- Chores: completed from the kid's Today view, approved by a parent PIN tap (or automatically, if you've set that chore to auto-approve).
- Word of the Day / Math Challenge: grade-appropriate, rotates daily, +1 coin each.
- Character Moments: parent-awarded coins for kindness, effort, and emotional regulation wins — not tied to a checklist.
- The Store: kids spend earned coins on rewards you've stocked — approved instantly or held for parent fulfillment, depending on the item.
